Killara's Trusted Local Electricians
We are a local team of NSW-licensed electricians, not a call centre. The leafy, affluent end of the Upper North Shore is our regular run, and its big garden blocks are most of our work.
Licence #452529C, Master Electricians Australia member, and a fixed written price before we start. No hourly rates, and no surprises on the invoice.
More about how the team works is on our about page.

What Older Killara Homes Need from a Sparkie
Killara is a garden suburb first, and that changes the electrical work.
Federation and Californian Bungalow homes sit on large leafy blocks, several inside heritage conservation areas, with newer apartment blocks near the railway and the Pacific Highway.
Big blocks mean pools and spas. Both want their own compliant dedicated circuit, properly protected and bonded, not a spur taken off whatever was nearest.
The other constant is distance. Along Springdale Road and Stanhope Road the houses sit well back, so garden lighting, pool gear and a shed at the rear all sit a long cable run from the board.
That run has to be rated and protected for its length, which is where most light installation quotes around these streets begin.
In the conservation streets, keeping cable out of sight matters nearly as much as the wiring behind it. We chase and route to suit the house.
The apartments near the station are a different job again. Smaller, tighter, and usually a strata conversation before anyone lifts a screwdriver.
David had us wire his garden lighting around a landscaping crew, through tight access and tired old cable. He said we gave him honest options at every price, and it was the fourth place of his we had done.
Three Building Waves, Three Kinds of Wiring
The suburb did not get built in one go. Three waves left three different problems behind the walls.
Pre-1940. The Federation and bungalow stock. Cloth-insulated wiring wherever nobody has been yet, plus circuits bolted on one at a time over the decades.
1960s to 1980s. The infill wave. This wiring is often sound, but nobody sized it for what a modern kitchen pulls.
2000s to now. New builds and gut renovations. Modern boards, modern standards, and the easiest work we do until somebody adds real load.
Most houses here mix at least two waves. So we test what is actually in the walls before quoting a rewire, rather than guessing from the build date.
Why Homeowners Here Pick Us
Most people who call us have owned the same house for a long time and plan to stay in it.
That changes what you want from a sparkie. Not the cheapest visit, but someone you can ring in five years who remembers your board.
We Answer, Day or Night
A genuine emergency gets a human at any hour, not a message bank. A licensed electrician works out how urgent it is while you are still on the call.
The Work Is Guaranteed for Life
Our lifetime workmanship guarantee covers any fault caused by our work, at no labour charge, for life. Not thirty days.

How we work
How We Work: Quote to Compliance Certificate
Four steps, every job, from one dodgy light switch to a whole-house rewire. No mystery about the price, the timing, or who is turning up at your door.
- 01
1. Call and Describe the Fault
Ring us and the office books you in for a time that suits, then texts to remind you the day before. No queue, no ticket number.
- 02
2. On-Site Quote, in Writing
We look at the actual job, then hand you a fixed written quote covering labour, materials, GST, testing and the paperwork. Free, with no call-out fee.
- 03
3. Done Properly, Left Tidy
Drop sheets down and the place left tidy, premium Clipsal and Hager switchgear where it belongs, and the rubbish leaves with us.
- 04
4. Tested, Certified, Handed Over
We test every circuit before we sign off, then issue your Certificate of Compliance and lodge notifiable electrical work with NSW Fair Trading.
Emergency Electrical Help Across Killara
Some faults will not wait for a booking slot. Call (02) 9538 7356 and you get a sparkie on the line working out how bad it actually is.
That is how every emergency electrician call-out starts here, day or night. Ring us when you see:
- Sparks or arcing at a power point or a light switch
- A hot or discoloured socket plate, or a smell of burning plastic
- Half the lights out while next door is perfectly fine
- A safety switch that will not stay on once you reset it
- Buzzing or crackling from the meter box
- Water in a light fitting or an outdoor socket after a downpour
Autumn is the busy one. Leaf litter blocks the gutters and stormwater pits, water goes where it was never meant to, and eave lights start playing up.
If the whole street is dark, it is a network outage and Ausgrid's crews own that one. Anything on your side of the meter is our job, and bookings are often same or next day.
Safe and Compliant on Every Job
Electrical work is a poor place to save money. DIY electrical work is illegal in NSW, and a bad job turns up years later as a fire or a failed sale.
Wired to AS/NZS 3000, Every Time
The wiring rules are not optional. Every circuit we install or touch is tested before we sign off and labelled clearly, so the next sparkie is not guessing.
Fully Insured, Every Job
Our cover is current, and you can ask to see it before we start. If something goes wrong at your place, you are not the one wearing it.
Master Electricians Australia Member
Membership means an independent body holds us to a standard, rather than us marking our own homework.
Backed for Life, Not Thirty Days
If our workmanship is at fault, we come back and fix it at no cost. A guarantee certificate is emailed to you the day the job finishes.

The short version, if you want to tick the boxes before you ring anyone. All of it is checkable.
What We're Seeing on the Tools This Year
One job keeps coming up: home EV chargers going onto houses whose supply was never sized for them.
The car is the easy part. A charger drawing hard all night, on a board already running a pool and a big kitchen, is where the real work starts.
So we check the supply before we quote. Sometimes it is a straight EV charger installation; sometimes it is consumer mains and a Level 2 job to get the capacity there.
Sam had us take his house from single-phase supply to three-phase. He said it ran smoothly from the first phone call to handover, and that the crew treated his place with real respect.

Common questions
Questions We Get Asked Most
Six things people ask before booking. If yours is not here, ring (02) 9538 7356 and ask a real person instead of filling in a form.
How much does an electrician cost in Killara?
There is no hourly rate. You get a free on-site look, then a fixed quote in writing covering labour, materials, GST and testing, and it does not change.
Is there an electrician near Killara open on weekends?
Our normal booking hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. Genuine emergencies are covered any time, weekends included, and a licensed electrician triages your call on the phone before we head out.
Is my old switchboard dangerous?
Not automatically. But a board with ceramic fuses and no safety switch has nothing that cuts the power fast enough to stop a shock, and plenty of untouched boards are exactly that.
What electrical services do you offer?
Six core areas: switchboards, lighting, EV chargers, emergency work, Level 2 network work and general residential jobs, plus data and comms cabling. If it runs on electricity, we handle it.
What suburbs do you service around Killara?
This suburb first, then Gordon, Lindfield, Roseville, Pymble and St Ives. That is the whole run, and none of it counts as a special trip.
Do I get a Certificate of Compliance after the work?
Yes, on any notifiable job, and it is included in the quoted price. The certificate is lodged with NSW Fair Trading, and photos of the finished work follow by email.
